Let’s get serious for a minute here.
If there’s anything in life you want to accomplish, you’ll have to put in the repetitions to get the results.
You’ll have to show up, day after day, after day.
Whether you feel like it or not.
We inherently understand this concept, and live it out in our lives in many ways.
When it’s time to work, you show up for your job. You do what you’re supposed to do, working on the task at hand so you can eventually accomplish the goal for the day, week, month or year.
Whether you feel like it or not, whether the temperature is hot or cold, whether it’s early in the day or late at night, when it comes time to work, you put in the repetitions to get the job done.
Your job is important to you. It provides value, contributes to the society around you, and generates provision for financial needs in this life.
And for most Americans, your job only accounts for 5 days of the week. However, it does typically account for one of the largest overall time commitments in the big picture of each week.
Think now about other things that you do on a daily basis.
Whether it’s Brushing Your Teeth for oral hygiene and fresh breath, Eating Nutritious Foods to give your body fuel for the day, or Getting Adequate Sleep so your brain can function well, you do lots of things on the daily because they are important to you.
Whether you feel like it or not, whether it provides immediate benefits in the moment or not, you do these things every single day because they are important to you and your future.
When it comes to your Health and Fitness, the same principle applies.
You have to put in the repetitions to get the desired outcome.
Whether it’s big or small, you have to do something every day to keep your priorities in check.
This could be something as simple as performing a 5 minute mobility routine to kick off your day and get your body feeling good all the way up to a full 1 hour training session in the gym.
The most important thing at first is to create a daily habit that you can commit to and execute over the long-term on a consistent basis.
If you don’t currently work out, committing to doing 5 minutes of Bodyweight Exercises in your living room could be just the start you need.
If you already go to the gym 4 days per week and favor strength training, adding in some mobility working and cardio/conditioning on your off days can go a long way to keeping your body feeling good over the long-haul and recovering more efficiently between your strength training sessions.
Whichever commitment you decide to make to create a lifestyle where you invest into your Health and Fitness on the daily, you have to make it Simple and Immediately Actionable – Something you can start doing Today!
So here’s my challenge for you.
If you don’t currently have a fitness routine to follow, commit to doing 5 minutes of Physical Activity during your morning routine to create this new habit.
If you already know what you need to do, they by all means start there.
If you don’t have any idea of what to do, start here:
10 Bodyweight Squats
10 Wall Slides
10 Push-Ups (Can Be Done on Kitchen Countertop if you can’t perform on the floor)
10 Reverse Crunches
That’s It. No Fancy Equipment Needed. You don’t even have to leave your house. We’re making this so simple for you for a reason If you can complete that under 5 minutes the first day, then you can start from the top and add in another set of these same exercises the next day performing them for a second round. Continue to perform these exercises each day for 5 minutes total. And then, the most important part: STOP.
Because most of us try to do too much, too soon, and quit as a result.
That’s not how you create a lifestyle of Health and Fitness.
Starting Small and Keeping Things Simple is.
For those of you who are already in the gym each week, but not currently doing something every day, this can be a simple way to kickstart adding movement to the rest of your days to keep your body feeling, looking and performing at it’s best over the long-haul.
Now it’s time to Take Action!
And make your Health and Fitness a part of your Daily Routine.
Because If Something Is Important To You – You Need To Do It Every Day.
And I’m confident that once you do – You’ll be so glad you did.
