A lot of people think that they will “get back on track” with their health and fitness “after the holidays.”
Most people say this with good intentions, but this is usually wishful thinking – at best.
So I want to help you see through the lie you may have told yourself and show you how to escape this trap.
To help put this in perspective, I have made a convenient list of regularly celebrated “holidays” (typically days that people make lots of choices centered around eating large amounts of food -typically from highly processed sweets and calories dense dishes) to show just how unrealistic this type of thinking is…
January: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
February: Valentine’s Day, Presidents’ Day
March: St. Patrick’s Day
April: Easter
May: Cinco De Mayo, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day
June: Father’s Day
July: Independence Day
August : National Ice Cream Sundae Day, National Root Beer Float Day, National Smore’s Day
September: Labor Day
October: Columbus Day, Halloween
November: Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving
December: Christmas, New Year’s Eve
And don’t forget about:
Birthdays…
Anniversaries…
Vacations…
Celebrations…
Someone brought donuts to work day…
The only problem with waiting to make a change until the “holidays” are over, is the fact that the holidays are NEVER over. And they NEVER will be. This can be pretty sobering to see and actually think about.
The reason that people don’t make their health and fitness a priority is because it actually requires them to face head on the very thing that they are avoiding. Making a lasting change in their lifestyle that they have been waiting and waiting, and waiting to make.
Because the crash diets, and the quick fixes simply don’t work.
Change is hard.
Staying the same is hard.
You have to choose your hard.
When the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of making a change – you’ll change.
Life is full of choices. It’s important to understand that the ones you are making today are the ones that determine the quality of your tomorrow.
If you’re ready to make a change,
A real lasting change,
There is no better time than right here, right now.
So make the CHOICE to make the CHANGE
And make the BEST of the REST or your life.
Waiting to make a change until “tomorrow” can become an ever-changing and always-attractive place in time where purposes are disappointed and dreams are left unfulfilled.
Take one step toward achieving your goals TODAY.
